“¡Hola, Berlín!”: Peru’s warm welcome at ITB Berlin 2025
Peru’s participation in ITB Berlin 2025 marks the start of a promising year in tourism. The country welcomed 3,256,693 international travellers last year, up 29% compared to 2023. Of these travellers, 505,000 came from Europe with Germany alone generating 61,080 travellers, up 45.7% from 2023.
Peru is bringing a large delegation to Berlin this year with a total of 23 Peruvian companies under the banner of the national tourism agency PROMPERÚ. The Peruvian delegation will be led by the Director of Tourism Promotion María del Sol Velásquez García and the Deputy Director for the Promotion of Incoming Tourism Ricardo Baraybar.
Peru is highlighting many topics at ITB Berlin 2025, with a strong focus on the Amazon region. With over 60 percent rainforest area, Peru is one of the most bio-diverse countries in the world including exceptional flora and fauna.
Another promising segment is luxury tourism. From luxurious tree houses and exclusive river cruises to nights under the stars listening to the sound of the rainforest, there are a range of options for travellers looking to experience Peru through exclusive adventures. At ITB Berlin, live performances will be given by two Peruvian craftswomen from the Amazon region and the Andes. On all three days of the show, visitors can experience the art of Shipibo-Conibo and traditional textile production from Chincheros.
Travel professionals will also be able to enjoy famed Peruvian gastronomy: on the second day of the show at 5:00pm, visitors are cordially invited to a cocktail reception with typical culinary delights on the Peru stand.
